This year more than ever we are working to gain support and build participation at this year's Williamsburg March for Babies walk, raising support and awareness for the March of Dimes. We would love your support as a single walker or by creating a team through your business or employer!

Who: When you walk in March for Babies, you give hope to the more than half a million babies born too soon each year.

Two beloved American icons come to life in the interactive exhibit for children, “Smokey Bear & Woodsy Owl: Home Sweet Home” at the Virginia Living Museum. The exhibit encourages families to spend time together outdoors and inspires children to discover and care for the natural resources that sustain our world – our home sweet home, as well as highlighting ways to reduce, reuse and recycle resources.  
Where: The Virginia Living Museum

Who: Geared for ages 2-8, the exhibit lets children explore the pretend forest, nature trail, ranger’s station, campsite, bridge, urban forest and more through props, costumes, puppets and other creative play.
How: Smokey Bear is perhaps one of the most recognized symbols, by both children and adults, for his wildfire prevention message; while Woodsy Owl’s message covers multiple areas of conservation.

The Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast invites the public to join them at Girl Scouts Rock the Beach! On view, and free to the public, will be an exhibit celebrating the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts and displays such as the 20’ educational trailer sponsored by Hampton Roads Planning District Commission. WAVY –TV’s Nicole Livas and Face of Fox 43 Tracie Paige will be on hand to sign autographs from 10 a.m. to noon. Become a Girl Scout and register by May 11 to have full access to nearly 100 exhibits, activities and a concert by SAVVY and other performers.

When: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Registered ticketholding Girl Scouts can stay longer)

How: Visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the area food bank.
Cost: Free to the public from 9am to 2pm. There is, however, more for registered Girl Scouts to do. There are more activities, and more exhibits. Tickets to experience that costs $15. And to spend the night with your fellow Girl Scouts, cost $25.

Touch a Truck offers children a hands-on opportunity to explore heavy machinery and to meet the people who build, protect and serve the Hampton Roads community.
When: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM (VIP Hour 9 a.m. to 10 a.m./Horn Friendly Hour 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
Who: The Whole Family and Macaroni Kid will be there too with giveaways for the first 500 people that stop by our booth!

Cost: The Junior League of Hampton Roads invites the community-at-large to participate in Touch a Truck for a cost of $5 per ticket, $15 per family of four before May 17th, or $20 per family of four after that. The Junior League also underwrites the costs of tickets for key families for whom the ticket price is not feasible.

Stamp Out Hunger


On Saturday, May 12th, Campbell Soup Company will join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers to help Stamp Out Hunger across America.
