Fireworks are fun right? Not so much for our furry friends. In fact, July 5th is the busiest day for pet shelters. Pets get scared, run off, & get lost. Here are some tips to help keep your pet safe during the holiday.
- Keep your pet indoors. Pets don't associate the loud noises & lights with fun. Instead it creates a panic among our furry friends.
- If you are going to a firework display, please leave your pet at home in a safe environment that they are used to.
- Make sure your pet has proper tags & identification on.
- Keep alcoholic drinks away from your pets. If your pet gets intoxicated from alcohol, they can go into a coma & die. Beer is also toxic to our pets.
- Do not put insect repellent on your pet that is not specifically made for animals.
- NEVER let your pet around or come into contact with fireworks. Fireworks can cause severe burns, as well as contain deadly toxins.
We hope you have a fun & safe holiday!
