Dickens’ Christmas Towne.  Hampton Roads’ newest holiday tradition returns in 2016 with an entirely new entertainment line-up of musicians, parlor magicians, jugglers, actors, and carolers!  Plus, a new enchanted Christmas tree forest, an animated puppet show, a magical snow fall, a petting zoo and more to delight visitors.  Additional highlights will include a celebration of the 75th anniversary of Little Golden books and showings of classic family films! Escape Ship: Captain’s Challenge. One room. One solution. You’ve only got 60 minutes to solve this exciting challenge and escape the Captain’s Cabin of the Battleship Wisconsin. Move fast—the clock is ticking! $20 per person.  $15 per person for groups of 8 or more. Tickets must be pre-purchased online ONLY at http://nauticus.org/escapeship/

Alan Dean: Rising Above Bias. Located in Battleship Wisconsin’s wardroom, this newly updated exhibit pays tribute to the first African-American officer to serve aboard this historic ship.

 

 

General Information

Nauticus & the Battleship Wisconsin, located on the downtown Norfolk waterfront, explores the nautical, naval and natural wonders of our waters.  Nauticus features hands-on exhibits, aquaria, 3D films, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, and the Battleship Wisconsin (BB64), one of four Iowa-class ships—the largest and last battleships built by the U.S. Navy.  A Stewards of the Sea” exhibit explores the Navy’s environmental efforts. Location:  Nauticus is located in Norfolk, Virginia, 20 minutes west of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, via 264W, and 40 minutes east of Colonial Williamsburg via I-64 to 264W.  Follow I-64 to 264W.  Take the Waterside Drive exit (Exit 9) and follow approximately ½ mile. Nauticus & the Battleship Wisconsin will be on your left.

 

Nauticus admission includes the museum, access to the Battleship Wisconsin’s outer decks and some interior spaces. Guided tours are available below decks for an additional fee.

 

Hours of Operation: Labor Day – Memorial Day Closed Monday; Tuesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sunday Noon – 5 –p.m. Memorial Day – Labor Day Open daily 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
