New Town has hired a professional artist to come in and draw a mural, but there will be catagories for kids, amateurs, & professionals. There will cash prizes for the winners, as well as a chance to win raffle prizes. There will also be a bounce house for kids & other fun things to do.
• Each artist receives his/her own 4 x 6 working space and 1 box of pastel chalk. (in addition, you are encouraged to bring your own chalk)
• Pre-registration is $8 and must be postmarked by Sept 1. Checks can be made out to New Town Business Association and mailed to: NTBA P.O. Box 5534 Williamsburg, VA 23188
• Registration is also accepted at the event for $10 and begins at 9:00 a.m. at the registration tent.
• The theme is “Fall Fun”. You may bring pictures and/or drawings of your work to interpret onto the street.
• Categories include YOUTH (ages 10-17), AMATEUR (ages 18- up), PROFESSIONAL (anyone who has sold a piece of art). There will also be an area for younger children to chalk.
• Artists may chalk from 10 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Judging will take place from 3:30- 4:30 and PRIZES in each category will be awarded at 4:45 p.m.
