Kids explore nature and space in week long camps at the Virginia Living Museum!
Meet live animals. Learn about creatures of confusion or tour the solar system. Discover animal stories or debunk urban myths. All these experiences and much more await children who attend weeklong summer programs offered by the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News.
Half-day sessions are offered for four-year-olds through grade 5. Each program is filled with crafts, live, touchable animals, exploration of the museum and other hands-on learning experiences.
The morning session is from 9:30 a.m. to noon. A few afternoon sessions are offered from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Weeklong sessions begin May 25 and end Aug. 21. Cost is $125 per child or $98 for museum members.
Four and five-year-olds can meet creatures of confusion or explore nature’s changes. Students who have completed kindergarten or grade 1 can explore animal habitats, cosmic questions or take a trip through space. Students who have completed second or third grade can explore science careers, the solar system or animal stories, while students who have completed fourth or fifth grade can explore science myth-teries.
