Spring and Summer Events at Nauticus

Check out some great events at Nauticus! 

Nauticus admission now includes access to selected interior areas of the Battleship Wisconsin (see White Ticket below) as well as the new exhibit For All Those in Uniform Who Have Served.

Admission fees help preserve and maintain the battleship for future generations.

2nd Annual Gettin’ Frisky on the Wisky Fundraiser. Enjoy an evening of live music and libations aboard the Battleship Wisconsin. Proceeds benefit the Sail Nauticus community sailing center. $75 ($90 if purchased after May 15). Visit www.sailnauticus.org for more details.

Opens Monday, June 15! 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Spy Ship: Code Breakers. An interactive espionage game that has participants exploring the on the Battleship Wisconsin, breaking codes and navigating through lasers. The ultimate family experience, Spy Ship will be open seven days a week through September 7. Additional fee required.


Saturday, June 20, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Elite Fleet of Virginia Beach will operate their intricately designed radio controlled model boats in our front pools.

Fantail Film Festival. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl kicks off the return of our Fantail Film Festival this summer on the Battleship Wisconsin. Bring the kids, some camp chairs and a blanket, and watch a movie the same way the sailors did during WWII. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $3 at the Nauticus admissions desk; reservations are not required. Concessions will be available for purchase. 



Located on the downtown Norfolk waterfront, Nauticus is a maritime science museum that explores the economic, naval, and natural power of the sea. Nauticus features hands-on exhibits, marine life, 3D movies, the Hampton Roads
 Naval Museum, and the awe-inspiring Battleship Wisconsin. Nauticus is also home to Sail Nauticus community sailing center, the Half Moone Cruise & Celebration Center, and Victory Rover Naval Base Cruises.


Berthed at Nauticus, the Battleship Wisconsin (BB64) is one of four Iowa-class battleships - the largest and one of the last battleships ever built by the U.S. Navy. Walk the decks of history, and go back in time to experience this majestic ship that earned five battle stars during World War II, as well as seeing active duty during the Korean War and the first Persian Gulf War. Visitors can explore her decks on their own, or opt for a guided tour below decks for an in-depth look at how sailors lived and worked.

Nauticus and the Battleship Wisconsin are located at One Waterside Drive on the downtown Norfolk waterfront. Memorial Day through Labor Day both are open daily from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Labor Day through Memorial Day, hours are Tuesday–Saturday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Sunday, noon–5 p.m. and closed Monday. Admission to Nauticus includes the Battleship Wisconsin. Many areas are open the public but guided tours of the Wisconsin’s interior spaces are available for an additional fee. Children ages 3 and under are free. Discounts are available for active duty military, seniors and AAA members. There is no charge to visit the Hampton Roads Naval Museum.
