Muse Creative Writing Camps for Kids and Teens

We are offering in person camps for three age groups: Your child or teen can learn to express themselves in a guided, friendly, and supportive environment. Let them be their muse!

Creative Writing Camp: Elementary School (ages 7-10)

This Muse Youth Summer Camp is a great opportunity for elementary writers to have fun with their words–both out loud and on paper. During each day of this fun morning “camp” for writers ages 7-10, we’ll explore a different type of creative writing and expression.

  • We’ll try our hands at poetry, sharing what we like and writing short poems together.
  • We’ll have a chance to write what we think about ourselves and the world around us as we make up new characters and stories by exploring fiction.
  • We’ll bring our stories to life by writing and illustrating comic books.
  • We’ll make music together by learning the art of writing songs.
  • And, we’ll have a chance to write the genre we enjoyed the most during the week, and then read or perform it for our friends and family during the last hour of the camp at 11 a.m. on Friday.
