Holiday Happenings at the Peninsula SPCA

The Peninsula SPCA is gearing up for some exciting activities during the holiday season!  From a visit with Santa at the Petting Zoo to a Do It Yourself workshop, animal lovers of all ages can enjoy a variety of humane education programs in the month of December.

Join us for a holiday celebration at the Peninsula SPCA Petting Zoo!  Families can enjoy a festive atmosphere with some of their favorite barnyard friends!  Children can create a button wreath and a reindeer lunch bag, and make their own Christmas ornaments and Hershey Kiss angels.  There will also be holiday story time, Christmas carols and a visit from Santa!  Children can enjoy time with Santa and have their photo taken from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Holiday treats will be available for purchase.  Admission:  Adults $4, Children: $6, includes activities and petting zoo admission.

DIY Feral Cat Winter Shelters – December 8 – 6 p.m.

This workshop is designed to help animal lovers in the community to prepare winter shelters for feline friends who must spend winter outside and can benefit from a warm, cozy shelter.  Guests can learn how to make a winter shelter and will build their own in this do-it-yourself workshop.  $20 includes all supplies.  Participants must register and pay in advance to guarantee a spot and materials.  Please register by December 1st @peninsulaspca.org or by e-mailing swee@peninsulaspca.org.

Barnyard Winter Fun Camp: Mon.- Wed., December 21 – 23,

Warm up with some furry friends at the Peninsula SPCA this winter! Spend some time helping out with the daily cleaning and feeding of our petting zoo animals, and meet some of our other furry friends. Make dog treats, hanging shape bird feeders, and design some cool toys for our Humane Ed. resident pets! Plus, enjoy some “cool” STEM activities from lifting an ice cube using only string to growing giant crystals and making your own snow slime. Create some cool and crafty holiday ornaments and decorations for the holidays. (Campers should bring a bag lunch for each day.)  Register in advance @peninsulaspca.org or by e-mailing swee@peninsulaspca.org
